This is an emulation of the string sounds heard on the Oxygene and Equinoxe albums by Jean-Michel Jarre.
This is my second attempt of emulating the signature string sound of the Eminent 310 Unique made famous by Jean-Michel Jarre. Please read the note in the Poly Grid patch. Suggestions and comments are very welcome.

Eminent 310U String Ensemble + Electro-Harmonix Small Stone. A classic combo heard on the Oxygéne (1976) and Equinoxe (1978) albums by Jean Michel Jarre. The Release stage on the AR envelope emulates the "Reverberation" slider found on the original.
This patch attempts to emulate the sound of a special string machine that Jean Michel Jarre used on Oxygène (1976) and Equinoxe (1978). I encourage you to examine the ensemble chorus section. If you come up with a better or more efficient implementation, I'd love to see it!

Based on Mr. Bill's Transient re-adder in his Virtual Riot - Fork Funeral remix. Place this rack after a clipper to re-add transients that were removed from the clipper. Adjust the transient curve to taste. Send your kick and snare busses into each respective audio sidechain and adjust the kick and snare gain accordingly for the amount of transient reemphasis you want. If you hear clicks, adjust the lag, threshold, fall, and amplify parameters to adjust the gate to taste.
FX Grid preset based on Mr. Bill's transient readder that he featured in his Fork Funeral remix. This will gate the transients from a kick and snare sidechain input whilst removing the transient from the master track, effectively readding a transient after removing it. Place this rack after a clipper on your master to re-add the transients that were lost during the clipper.

Inspired by Sound Ghost's Jumble plugin. Drop in a melody loop and hold a note.
I did a quick recreation of Sound Ghost's Jumble plugin inside Bitwig (made in 5.1.9). Inside a Chain is an Arpeggiator triggering a Sampler with random sync'd LFOs and a Delay+ and Reverb on the end of it. Drop a melodic loop into the Sampler and just hold down a note

A Recreation of Phase Plant utilizing Bitwig's layer containers. The main instrument layer is your oscillator section and the Fx layer contains your 3 lanes. These lanes are setup in series by default but there is a simple button macro to split them into parallel lanes (NOTE: you will have to reroute the audio receivers in parallel). If you want to do any kind of poly modulation its going to need to happen within each individual "oscillator" layer, you cannot use poly modulators within the fx main fx section.

parallel push pull eq through distortion that mimics spectre
a first stab at replicating Spectre in bitwig, using parallel push-pull eq (with phase inverted copy to create a bandpass of sorts) through distortion. Improvements or changes welcome - user beware, this is in no way a clone! better settings can probably be found for the saturator for a more pleasing result. maybe one could add an fx selector for different saturation styles, or expose parameters that make sense.

Processing in The Grid is sample accurate. This is especially useful when working with steep modulation envelopes, like with transients. Envelope modules outside of The Grid also have a minimum attack time of 1ms, which makes them unsuitable for razor sharp editing. This patch allows very accurate isolation of a fragment of the incoming signal for separate processing. The dry and wet signal are separated in an FX layer nested in Post FX. All essential controls are mapped to a remote page.
Here's a sample accurate signal splitter I use for FX processing on specific fragments of (in my case kicks) the incoming signal. Envelopes outside of the grid have a minimum attack time of 1 ms and especially when working with fast transients, accuracy becomes important.

Gate with Hysteresis™. Essentially, there are separate thresholds for causing the gate to open and close. If the signal exceeds the Open Threshold, the gate is opened. Then, the gate will only close once the signal goes below the Close Threshold. Note that the Open threshold should always be higher than the Close Threshold. The other controls includ Attack which controls the attack of the gate envelope, release which controls the Release of the gate envelope, Depth which controls how much the gate attenuates the signal, and Sidechain? which controls whether or not to use a sidechain input. Dtct Atk and Dtct Rel are used to control how fast the gate will be triggered in response to the signal. In general it is usually desirable to keep Dtct Atk low and Dtct Rel a bit longer. To get a better idea of what thresholds to set, what the state of the gate is, and set the audio sidechain source, open the grid and look for the labeled white controls.
Essentially the stock Gate device but with hystersis (meaning you control the opening and closing thresholds separately). See the description of the preset for more details on the controls.

This is a five band approximation of the Loud Split device usint robbert-vdh's crossover plugin. Lo Thresh corresponds to the divide between the quiet and mid volume frequencies, and Hi Thresh corresponds to the divide between the mid and high volume frequencies. Put your effects in the "FX HERE" FX layer at the end of the corresponding chain (high, mid, or low). Advanced: There are controls for the number of bands and the location of each crossover point. Also, you can change the depth, attack, and release controls for the army of gate devices powering this behind the scenes, though generally you want to leave depth all the way up and the attack/release macros very low.

This patch allows using sostenuto pedal (or signal) on any instruments that may not support it natively (it will sustain notes that were held when pedal was pressed, but not affect new notes after it, and will release sustain as pedal releases). If your sostenuto pedal uses specific CC message, set it accordingly in top-left corner of the patch. Check the notes in the patch on how it works.
After much discussion I've finally figured out that this patch I've made is for Sostenuto effect specifically, and not usual Sustain pedal action.

A template to drop in any sample, enable looping and use the remote controls to affect the grain generation, window size and overall adsr. The release of chords is a little funky if not all notes are released at the same time, might be best to use a multinote for chords and only supply mono note input. I recently saw some interesting videos on Eurorack Low Pass Gates. Although it is described as not (easily) possible to re-create in software I think I succeeded quite well in mimicking it in the Grid. The four macro knobs will do to cover most of the alteration of the LowPassGate behaviour 🤔

A recreation of the CS-80's "peculiar" oscillator section, which consists of a sawtooth core as well as an added pulse train to cover the rising edge section the sawtooth. The other waveforms are shaped from this sawtooth core as they would in the oscillator circuitry, going saw -> triangle -> sine. As a result, the saw has extra harmonics, the triangle sounds just extra square-y, and the sine wave has lots of additional harmonics while still sounding like a sine wave.
A recreation of the oscillator present in the CS-80. Following http://joachim.milson.free.fr/cs80-interactive-diagram/master-boards.html, I've implemented the sawtooth core of the CS-80 with the added pulse to cover up the rising edge of the sawtooth generator, and then the triangle and sine waves with waveshaping. The result is that the triangle wave shape inherits the square pulse within it, and sounds rather unique, and the sine wave, while sounding like one, has overtones and also inherits the square pulse, making it harsher than a pure tone would. I did not add the high-pass filter section of the oscillator, and added subtle saturation (simulating driving the voltage followers) as well as chorus in the FX section.

Hard clipper with a bit of a twist. Good for lo-fi/tape crackle/noise effects (although worse than actual emulations, obviously). For an actual hard clipper (why would you, but still) set Mix, Blend and Density to 100%. Depth - threshold level. Mix - dry/wet blend. Dynamic - threshold follows the input signal volume. Random - threshold level is randomized (lowering the overall threshold). Gap - [regular][stepped, can pop] gap between clip triggers. Cluster - [regular][stepped, can pop] clip time (% of gap length). Blend - between [regular] and [irregular], that is clipping at certain intervals or clipping randomly. Density - [irregular] essentially the chance to clip randomly.
Made a preset as a kind of challenge while learning Grid. Distortion, crackle, noise or something like that.

<@360540101853446165> hera ya go. for the uninitiated, it's a kick generation tool made in the grid. it uses 4 sample layers, a noise layer, and a noise transient going through filters with most parameters linked to dices which are linked to sub group triggers, which are linked to a master trigger, meaning you can either press one button to randomize everything, or press one trigger and randomize only the pitch envelopes, filter positions, sample pitches, etc., etc. by only clicking the corresponding trigger group.

Two random melodies start off completely different, then converge, note by note, until they are the same melody (played 1 ocatev apart so we can hear them separately). Attach a pluck instrument.
I’ve made something weird today. A few days ago I rewatched <@118550747137835008>’s tutorial called “Generative Pattern Combining in the Bitwig Studio Grid”, which I had seen before but for some reason forgot about. Maybe I watched it too early in my Bitwig journey to understand the potential. But this time it was a huge, I mean huge bout of inspiration. For the last few days I've been doing things with generative melodies that evolve and then return to their original state, which I didn’t think was possible, because I understood that the S/H device can sample values, but I didn’t quite realize that it could hold on to them too. And today I've made something weird. Instead of starting with a melody and letting it go in random directions, I wondered whether the opposite was possible. Can I start with two different melodies of the same length, and by changing their notes at random make them eventually converge into a single melody? Turns out, yes I could! So here’s the Note Grid preset and a very basic project. If you try it out, send it to a pluck-type instrument, it expects to play quick, distinct notes. Notes change at random once per bar, so the time it takes for both melodies to converge depends on the tempo you set, which for me, at 130 bpm, takes under two minutes. Every bar the melody will be slightly different than previously (well, not *every* bar really, since sometimes randomness will replace a note with itself), and gradually the two distinct melodies will coalesce into one. Oh, and the blue lights indicate which notes are already ”synced”, so you can see the progress. Musical? Perhaps not 😊 Useful? Perhaps not, either. But pleasantly weird, and I love the grid for being able to accommodate such odd designs.

A fully generative patch for the grid. It implements the basic Krell idea: an envelope that retriggers itself, and then wanders off into deep space. Almost entirely random, and by default not even quantized to pitch (there's a macro button for that, esp. if you want to send notes out to another synth). Do replace the stock FX with your favorite delays and reverbs.
A "Krel"l patch for the grid: couldn’t find a proper implementation, so I tried making my own. Fully generative, takes the basic Krell idea (an envelope that retriggers itself), and wanders off into deep space. Almost entirely random. Pitch is random, too, and not quantized in any manner, because hey, space music 😊 I like it this way, but adjust to taste. (There's a macro button to quantize by semitones, helpful if you want to send notes out to another synth). Do replace the stock FX with your favorite delays and reverbs. (My choices: AudioThing OuterSpace, Valhalla Vintage Verb) It's a total space-out, sometimes reminds me of Beaubourg by Vangelis, which I've always loved. It’s really amenable to all kinds of FX (tape delays, granular, noises, wobbles, and totally try it with a ring mod.). I've been listening to it for 3 days now and haven’t had enough, but ymmv.

Remote controls: Blend - blend between no modulation and tremolo effect, is affected by following controls Env - fade in/out for tremolo effect, shifts blend to tremolo. rnd - how much random affects blend amount Rise/Fall - add smoothing as (if) needed via enfelope follower after modulation Gain mod - when on, modulates Gain. when off, modulates Pressure Bend - Bends tremolo gain curve Quantizer - at max setting switches between voices in stepped fashion
The polyphonic tremolo effect that can be used on native devices and CLAP plugins that will support gain expressions. You can play with LFO and Random modulator settings, like enabling/disabling polyphonic mode on those, then it'll affect how gain is modulated across held notes. With mono LFO, you'll hear more of a wave that goes across held notes as if it's a 'soft arpeggiator' that blends between held notes one-by-one instead of triggering them one-by-one. While with polyphonic mode and randomisation you can get different notes coming in and out in different groups.

I don't know if it can be helpful for someone but I am creating some chain presets to control my external hardware synths so I can add modulators faster and easier. This preset is created on Bitwig 4.2 beta 3, so probably it won't work with previous versions. I thought it was a nice idea to share the link for download. The first I did is for Sequential OB6, and you can find it here: https://mega.nz/file/6xJjHCyZ#G9HWJn79n1uBRVnD8OnFZlwym1hwWHJ8V865BFTTnyw The chain includes five pages with the CC parameters mapped on knobs and buttons, subdivided in "VCA Envelope", "Filter", "Filter Extras", "Oscillators" and "Oscillator Extras". It includes also the "HW Instrument" device, so you can place it on a midi track and hear the audio without needing to add it after. Check the midi channel (in my case it's "2" so probably you want to change it according to your setup opening the HW Instrument device inside the chain). I hope it can be useful for someone, since I plan to do more of them. Have a nice day!

Disabling it changes samplers mode to "Cycles" mode which sounds less sharper but gives adventage of formant manipulation capability. - Use "Tune" parameter to tune all samples into the closest note (F3), after full tuning, you can "tune everything to C" with one buuton. - Turn "Speed" parameter down to zero (or enable "Freeze") to achieve static and stable sound, useful in "Cycles" mode (by disabling "Repitch"). There are other parameters available that makes use of modulating "Speed" with "Random" modulator, and other that can freeze playhead and modulate it with another "Random" modulator. Just play with exposed parameters Note: snd_wngdng6 contains noise-like sound without tonality, so during tuning (above 50% value) it is being replaced by snd_wngdng2 sound.

There's a number of ways to drop a seed value apart from manual selection.
CC randomizer tailored for Generic Knobs controller script, which randomises remote control values in currently selected device. There are few modes for triggering new random values from note input as well as manual seed selection. 4.0 and up required, virtual midi driver as well to send CC's and then reuse in controller script. compared to previous version I've removed accidentally left over note filter which caused input trigs to not pass above C#1 notes, as well as removed remote controls in favour to just Macro modulators in order to avoid feedback loops when device itself is becoming target for randomization. additionally there's a keytrack option for manual seed selection mode, so you could choose seed based on note

Change seed value to anything between 0 and 100% to generate a new preset, decimals also count. There's also Set size knob that resizes set from maximum 4590 values to anything less, and that would generate whole new set with different combinations for each seed. so total seeds that can be accessed should be beyond 21million. Limiting the chance to certain value ranges can sometimes be quite effective. (7 main osc, 1 sub, 1 noise) It's pretty simple, every osc has it's own adsr and Volume and Pan, and are divided into 2 groups, which also have Volume and Pan controls: - Basic Osc (Pulse, Saw, Sine, Triangle) - Special Osc (Wavetable, Phase1, Swarm) Also features a filter (Controllable in Performance Tab) Post Master Mixer and Pre Master ADSR. Everything is controllable in the Modulator tab of the synth. (Mainly Macro-4 and ADSR) to make it the most front end possible.

A fun DJ style fader that 'vocodes' between two signal sources. Inside the FX layer you will find a LEFT and RIGHT audio sources. You should set the inputs up for these to the corresponding left and right audio you want to fade/vocode between. Inside there is a FADER knob that controls which side of the mix is playing. Dry Left on the Left. Dry Right on the Right. In the middle of the mix are two vocoder channels. One using the carrier/modulator in one direction. The other using the carrier/modulator reversed. You can expand the chains to modify how the vocoders are set up for your particular use case. Maybe a good idea to map the formants of the two vocoders to CC's so you can tweak them in real time

I build based on the Rando-Rambo fx grid preset from Polarity my RFC-214, a Random FX Chain containing 18 Bitwig native audio effects whose 214 parameters can be randomized with a click of a single button! I tried to group "similar" effects into single modules that can be individually randomized, muted and gain-controlled. At the end of each module and the whole rack I added a low-cut and a limiter because it's likely that things are getting out of control. There is a problem with conflicting buttons states because there is one generate button at the first preset page that controls the randomization of all the 3 modules, and you have on the second page individual generate buttons which can get out of sync with the general generate button when pressed. If someone has an idea how to solve this, I would be glad to know! Otherwise, feel free to work with the preset and rearrange it as you like. Inside the modules effects are working in serial and rearranging them will make a huge difference. I decided to have the 3 modules working in parallel thus it's not that likely that a heavy distortion totally negates a reverb effect, and you can control them easier individually.

OK, so here is my shot at extending <@!118550747137835008> 's grid to note. I added: 1. legato playing 2. pitch bend support 3. MPE support for pressure and timbre. Pressure can't be directly sent to a device though because of the way it is implemented in MIDI. (Please bitwig... give us access to pitchbend and pressure generators so we can do cool stuff with them.) You can use pressure in the grid patch itself to do things with pitch (make a pressure sensitive pitch LFO) or to map pressure to timbre (which can be sent to a MPE VST as it is a normal cc) and things like that. 4. This is ready to be used polyphonically -- make an instrument selector with a bunch of these and set to free robin, then go into each layer and change the MIDI mapping setting so that they map to MIDI channels 2-16 (as many as you need) then route the output of the whole rack to a single VST and it should work.

My 1st actual Grid preset that I'm proud of. There's several optimisations I could do to make it smaller (4-5x actually), but for now my head hurts trying to do that, so I'll probably re-do it from scratch with what I've learned. Anyway, it's a simple beat repeater FX, controlled by MIDI: C3 - 1/8 repeats D3 - 1/16 E3 - 1/32 F3 - 1/64 Next versions will likely add expressions to control amplitude, filtering and pitch shifting.

This is a crude wavetable lookup distortion/waveshaper, similar in concept to Audio Damage's plugin Grind. Incoming audio is fed through the phase modulation input of a stopped wavetable oscillator in order to remap the amplitude of the input to that of the wavetable's. Or something like that. This implimentation doesn't work super well but I'm sure you can get some cool sounds out of it if you tried. Try loading some different wavetables.
I made a pretty simple wavetable lookup distortion thingy in FX Grid. It sounds okay but it's fun to experiment with. Maybe somebody can improve on it. Requires 3.3 beta minimum, of course.

Edit the LFOTool and Enjoy! I made a preset with this routes, just remove from Chain.

I made a preset based on sample slicing, it quantises the values so assuming that the loop has a sensible division, everything will be in sync. and instead of the randomizer has bars where you can draw the steps... Drawing a random pattern is almost as fast as pressing a button, and there is no need for the lock buttons.

This is a 16 step sample reararranger used to create Microhouse drum patterns from any sample you load into it. Using the individual and group step selector knobs, you can choose what snippet of the sample to assign to each step or step group (downbeat kick, offbeat hat, clap and the 4 weak beats). You can turn steps on or off with the buttons and minimally affect the decay of the hits. Works BEST with the Groove settings on for that rolling Microhousey vibe.

A handy little device for creating tighter drum rhythms out of loops. Set INPUT to an appropriate level for the Envelope Follower to pick up the transients and then dial in ATTACK and DECAY to taste. The LOW CUT knob will remove unwanted low frequencies, helpful for making top loops out of any loop. The CLAP and HAT knobs let through notes with longer delay on every other downbeat and every off beat respectively to add some longer hits even if you have the whole loops sounding tight as hell. SPACE adds a small amount of reverb to glue it all together a little.
Here's a nifty little tool that will help you create those tight, clicky microhouse/ Rominimal drum patterns a la Ricardo Villalobos/Rhadoo/Petre Inspirescu/Raresh out of any drum loop you slap it on.

Apart from standard MPE modulators it has 3 additional modulators for capturing acceleration levels of pressure, timbre and pitch. You can also use additional 0/1 modulator indicating fast key release. This preset is intended to be used as copy-paste template or as a starting point for making MPE enabled devices.

Set Top and Bottom of any MIDI note range, and all RAW or DATA pitches will wrap into this range. Works only inside the Grid, on Oscillator modules. (Until we finally get a proper Pitch Grid device.)
A fully in-grid **Note Range Wrapper** build. You can specify any range of notes that is at least 12-semitones or larger (even spanning multiple octaves), and all Pitch Input (or data-driven pitches) will wrap into that range. Works with any arbitrary note range (at least 12 semitones wide), instead of the wrap being limited to whole octaves of C. NOTE: Works only *inside* the Grid for now. No way to get MIDI note data *out* of the Grid until Bitwig finally gives us some type of Note Grid device in the future.

Tuning is done by semitones, default tuning with the keytracking disabled is a low F note, since F is the most common root note in EDM/electronic music. - Slight Improvements in the dynamic saturator in the FX section, also the controls for that have been mapped to a remote control page in the main Poly Grid device. - Internal distortion in the grid patch can now be disabled, or pushed harder/reduced via the "Distortion Ctrl" Macro.
