Processing in The Grid is sample accurate. This is especially useful when working with steep modulation envelopes, like with transients. Envelope modules outside of The Grid also have a minimum attack time of 1ms, which makes them unsuitable for razor sharp editing. This patch allows very accurate isolation of a fragment of the incoming signal for separate processing. The dry and wet signal are separated in an FX layer nested in Post FX. All essential controls are mapped to a remote page.

Here's a sample accurate signal splitter I use for FX processing on specific fragments of (in my case kicks) the incoming signal. Envelopes outside of the grid have a minimum attack time of 1 ms and especially when working with fast transients, accuracy becomes important.

This is an FX Grid preset to put after the grid patch you're building in order to stop sudden high frequency peaks, decrease the volume after a certain threshold and generally keep things safe when accidents happen when you're building presets.

Percentage based volume control. Instead of dB it ranges from 0-100% while keeping the maximum loudness at 0dB. Especially useful for automation. I tend to overshoot the 0dB when drawing automation curve. This way it wont happen if you use the macro knob instead.

You can use this preset as an alternative for the usual metronome. Maybe you find it useful. Initially it plays only a hihat sound but you can also add some kick and clap if you want.

Blendable FX bypass (input stage Mix knob). Your FX go into Post FX -> FX Layer -> layer 1, AFTER the DC Offset. Leave layer 2 alone.

A blendable bypass wrapper for FX / Mix knob for the input stage / device version of the Split module. It's awkward because two levels of nesting, it incurs a small CPU hit because Grid, but it sounds good and doesn't suffer cancellation artifacts like the simpler solution I've tried. Maybe others will also agree this is useful and ask Bitwig to finally do it.

A template to drop in any sample, enable looping and use the remote controls to affect the grain generation, window size and overall adsr. The release of chords is a little funky if not all notes are released at the same time, might be best to use a multinote for chords and only supply mono note input. Note that bitwig support told me this is basically abusing the midi standard, so expect that the audio engine to sometimes break on v4.3.10 at least, lower rate/density seems to break less.

I don't know if it can be helpful for someone but I am creating some chain presets to control my external hardware synths so I can add modulators faster and easier. This preset is created on Bitwig 4.2 beta 3, so probably it won't work with previous versions. I thought it was a nice idea to share the link for download. Check the midi channel (in my case it's "2" so probably you want to change it according to your setup opening the HW Instrument device inside the chain). This uses the free MRatioMB plugin (which you'll need to install) to split a signal into a transient and a tonal part so you can process them individually. There are macros for choosing the ratio between the transient and tonal bands, as well as to allow you to fine tune the transient splitting algorithm.

I made a preset based on sample slicing, it quantises the values so assuming that the loop has a sensible division, everything will be in sync. and instead of the randomizer has bars where you can draw the steps... Drawing a random pattern is almost as fast as pressing a button, and there is no need for the lock buttons.

Introducing RAND-O-TRON-3000, the next logical progression to my RHYTHMIQUE preset. Now you can take the effort out of picking which sample snippets you'd like to be on each step of your dope ass motherfucking drum beat. 1. Simply load a sample into it, hit the RANDOMISE button. 2. Lock any of the steps you like with the corresponding LOCK button. 3. RANDOMISE again. 4. Lock any steps you like again... And so forth... P.s. You can also turn steps off in the same way as in RHYTHMIQUE

Fun little panning utility that lets you pan further than hard left or right (with optional gain compensation for when hard pan occurs to keep the perceived level constant)

This is a 16 step sample reararranger used to create Microhouse drum patterns from any sample you load into it. Using the individual and group step selector knobs, you can choose what snippet of the sample to assign to each step or step group (downbeat kick, offbeat hat, clap and the 4 weak beats). You can turn steps on or off with the buttons and minimally affect the decay of the hits. Works BEST with the Groove settings on for that rolling Microhousey vibe.

A handy little device for creating tighter drum rhythms out of loops. Set INPUT to an appropriate level for the Envelope Follower to pick up the transients and then dial in ATTACK and DECAY to taste. The LOW CUT knob will remove unwanted low frequencies, helpful for making top loops out of any loop. The CLAP and HAT knobs let through notes with longer delay on every other downbeat and every off beat respectively to add some longer hits even if you have the whole loops sounding tight as hell. SPACE adds a small amount of reverb to glue it all together a little.

Here's a nifty little tool that will help you create those tight, clicky microhouse/ Rominimal drum patterns a la Ricardo Villalobos/Rhadoo/Petre Inspirescu/Raresh out of any drum loop you slap it on.
